Little Pie and her Bird Whir: Ceramic Sculpture

Pie and Whir are high fired ceramic sculptures finished in underglazes.

Little Pie is on quite an adventure. She dropped off her tree when she was small and rolled very far. She found a broken tea cup to sleep in which was surprisingly comfortable. One day she awoke to find a large robotic budgerigar wearing her tea cup as a hat. It was Whir. Whir is short for Whirly Bird, but Whir had lost his propeller and had been searching for something to wear on his head ever since.

Pie quite liked Whir. He didn’t do much thinking because it would wear out his cogs, he just liked not worrying and being happy and Pie liked that too.

Pie and Whir have been treated with liquid quartz for easy cleaning.

They are a one of a kind ceramic sculpture that has deliberate painterly brush strokes and a whimsical illustrative quality.
